Receipt Please.

When you need to make a return for a purchase to a retail store, please, please, please keep your receipt! We people of the retail industry GREATLY appreciate you! You who have your little or large wad of receipts in your wallet. You who have the little plastic file folder with your receipts, sometimes categorized, we truly, truly, thank you.

When you bring this little, seemingly insignificant piece of paper with you it usually makes the whole returning thing easier for the worker and for you, the customer. Sometimes when you don’t have your receipt you will end up getting less money back for what you actually paid for the item. Or you may just get store credit, which can be a good thing or a bad thing in its own right.

So to keep things simple, Bring.Your.Receipt. It saves you time and money.

Saving with your email

Everybody loves saving money, especially on stuff that we already need to buy. One of the simplest ways to do this is by looking for promotions on your favorite stores websites. Most mainstream clothing websites have promotions especially when you have an account with them.
If your email is already cluttered with unwanted emails and spam, I would create a separate account just for these promotional ones. There’s comcast.net, yahoo.com,and gmail.com available. I have a yahoo account for all my email, and I have a gmail account for my special emails.
Most of these discounts are worth the time and effort it takes to create an account. So enjoy having that extra few bucks in your wallets you savvy shoppers you!!
P.S. Here are a few of my favorite stores promos…
Old Navy-$10 off a $50 purchase
New York and Company-$25 off of $75 or more
Roxy-free shipping on next order (sweet!)

jeans,Jeans,JEANS!!

I have noticed that I have a definite love/hate relationship with jeans. I have more than 5 pair but less than 10. I feel that I fall under the normal range of denim quantity. In my mind jeans should be easy. If you don’t know what to wear, throw on some jeans. If you don’t feel like getting dressed to run to the store, throw on some jeans. You get my drift. HOWEVER! My husband (Nate) would say that I am very picky about my jeans. This is my list of denim standards that run through my mind when wanting to purchase jeans.

1. What is the rise? Some low rise I can handle some I cannot. The top of the jean has to cover at-least half of my tattoo. This little tip came from my mom, when I was having a melt down. Jeans cannot be rubbing up against my c-section scar, that is way to low! Its way not sexy.

2. Wash. I usually go for a medium to dark wash. Easy.

3. Back Pockets. I don’t always think about this but it does cross my mind if I think the pockets make my butt look big. Sometimes pockets are a great tool for an optical illusion. Either making you look like you have a butt or making your already existing butt look to big. I am most definitely the latter.

4. Length. I have a hugh issue with this. I am 5’8″. I fall perfectly in the middle of the regular/long category. Regulars usually range about 32″. Longs range about 34″. The perfect length for me…a 33″. Sucks.I know!

So I guess I am picky. But hey, I’m an indecisive girl who knows what I want. That’s a good thing, right?

Dressy & Practical

I love to have pretty things that are practical! What girl doesn’t like to dress up every once and a while and put on a dress?  My only problem with dresses of the past was that you couldn’t carry anything with you unless you carried a purse. Or you literally wanted to carry it in your hand. It was almost a requirement, dress.check.purse.check. So, I was sooooo excited when dresses started being made with pockets!! The practical woman inside me was giddy with excitement!! I was saying FINALLY, I can carry a few of my essentials without having to have a purse! A-W-E-S-O-M-E!
Although now that I think about it, I have a few dresses but none with pockets. huh. I guess it’s time for a shopping trip =)

Awe…Forever 21

So let me talk about what I love about Forever 21. Cheap clothes, cheap clothes, oh and did I mention that they have cheap clothes! $4 t-shirts, $3 camisoles and I found this really cute jumper this last summer for like 2o bucks! Oh, I heart forever 21!

HOWEVER, I will not buy basic long sleeve shirts from them EVER! I bought some a few years ago thinking, “Wow this is such a great deal, I can buy 2 long sleeve shirts for 10 bucks!” AWESOME! When I washed them one time the sleeves shrunk up so much that the end was above my wrist. I was heart broken.

I still had faith in Forever 21 this fall and bought one long sleeve grey shirt. When I went to put it on (for the first time by the way) it had a hole in the armpit! Yet again, heart broken! So now I am restricted by my husband from buying anything from Forever21.

Banned. For. Life. Dun Dun Duh…..

Back to Basics

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a girl who loves some plaid or a bold print now and again but there is something comforting about the most basic thing you can own…a white t-shirt. I absolutely love white t-shirts! You can pair it with the most worn out jeans and it looks and feels great. You can match it with a pencil skirt and a wide belt and voila! You have a work outift.  A white t is my reliable go-to staple when I’m having one of those “I don’t even feel like wearing clothes today” moods.
So ladies, if you don’t own some form of a white t-shirt, whether it’s a crew neck, scoop neck, or v-neck. INVEST! You won’t regret it!

p.s.- I like to buy my t’s from American Eagle Outfitters, Old Navy and Forever21. ( I have a blog about Forever21 coming soon)

I have never really been a huge fan of belts in general. They have always been purely functional to me. They go around you pants. What else could they possibly do. Although now that I think about it they have been a staple in my wardrobe since I was about 5.  I was all about tucking in my shirt and wearing a belt. I’m glad that phase is over!

Now I love wearing a belt around my waist! I love to wear sundresses with them. A long t shirt. Pretty much anything. Big belts. Skinny belts. I especially like braided leather belts.
They are a great way to punch up your outfit without being to over the top. The best part is they can be very inexpensive!

So if your looking to add a little something to your wardrobe consider the practical belt! It just may make the difference.
